Last September, the 2011 Tokyo Game Show had the largest number of visitors in its history with 222,688 people attending. Tokyo Game Show has grown every year since its inception. This is the KING of gaming events where entire companies in the video game industry congregate to show off their latest game creations.
The main event for the 2012 Tokyo Maximum Tour is of course the Tokyo Game Show. We have spiced up the tour by including "Odaiba Day." At Odaiba, we will check out Gundam Front Tokyo which just opened in April 2012 AND Joypolis - the indoor amusement park featuring arcade games and rides based on Sega intellectual properties. Joypolis is under renovations and is expected to re-open this July. We will also be visiting must-see spots like Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Harajuku. Various optional activities are also available. This is your opportunity to see the Japan you’ve dreamed about.


DAY1: September 18 (Tue)

Meet your escorted guide and other members at Los Angeles Airport. Make sure to be at our designated meeting spot on time. (TBA)

Make your way to the hotel in Tokyo on your arrival date. We’ll advise you the transportation details to get to your hotel before you leave the U.S.

- We strongly recommend to you get to the airport 2.5 - 3 hours prior to your departure time. If you are meeting the group at LAX, please allow for 2.5 - 3 hours connecting time at LAX.

DAY2: September 19 (Wed)

We finally land in the Land of the Rising Sun - Japan! You can exchange your money here. Japanese use cash more often than in U.S. so try to keep some cash in your wallet during your stay.
Take a Limousine shuttle bus directly to Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo in Ikebukuro. For those who are on the Budget Plan, you will take the same Limousine shuttle bus then have a ten minute walk to the Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro.

For participants departing from other cities
Transfer to your hotel on your own. (Transportation fee not included) Meet your guide the arrival night or next morning depending on your arrival flight and time.

Are you not tired at all? Go exploring the area or have a good rest and be ready for tomorrow!

DAY3: September 20 (Thu)

We’ll start our first morning with a half-day Tokyo sightseeing bus tour! Take some time to get acquainted with the sights and sounds of Japan. You've seen Japan in pictures - now see it with your own eyes.

Your sightseeing trip will include visits to some classic Japanese shrines and temples. The tour bus will visit the Imperial Palace, the Asakusa Kannon Temple and the Nakamise Shopping Arcade. The bus will drop us off in Akihabara where we will explore this major shopping area known for its video games, anime, electronic, computer, and otaku goods. You’ll have the whole afternoon to enjoy shopping, playing at a video arcades, or even experience a Maid Café if you want! We will do a lot of walking this day, so wear comfortable walking shoes to help you explore and shop till you drop.

DAY4: September 21 (Fri)

An experienced bilingual tour guide will take you on a full-day Tokyo shopping tour on the sometimes intimidating train system to four of Tokyo's hottest shopping areas. Visit the Sony Building in Ginza to watch, listen, touch and try the latest products, check out the must-visit Square Enix Show Case in Shinjuku, mingle with the underground crowd on the streets of Harajuku, and experience true modern style over in Shibuya.

DAY5: September 22 (Sat)

Today is the big day you have been waiting for - Tokyo Game Show 2012. If the show is like previous years, it will be jam packed with gamer fans and gamer companies showing off the latest in technology. We'll spend all day here so be prepared for the sights, sounds, and CROWDS. It will be a really long day - wear comfortable shoes and clothes - lines can be long so take your mobile devices to amuse yourself while waiting. If you finish early, you are free to go back to the hotel or explore other areas on your own!

DAY6: September 23 (Sun)

Your first free day in Tokyo has arrived! Do you have your “must do” lists ready? If you need some suggestions about what to do, be sure to ask. Here are a couple of options you may want to consider:

 1.) Tokyo Game Show 2nd day (Entrance Price: $15.00 - ticket only)
Go back to Tokyo Game Show. For participants who couldn't get enough in one day, return to see and try all of video games they missed. We'll arrange your ticket for the 2nd day and give you directions to go and return on your own.

 2.) Mt. Takao Hiking
Mt. Takao is awarded three stars by Michelin's Voyager Pratique Japon in 2007 in recognition of its magnificent beauty.

 3.) Other Optional Day Activities
We offer a wide range of optional tours allowing you to customize your trip and make it even more memorable. Check them out or ask us for advice. We are here for you!

DAY7: September 24 (Mon)

Odaiba Tokyo Day gives you one full day to explore Odaiba. Be sure to check out the actual (sized-to-scale) 60 foot Gundam statue just opened this April in front of the new shopping mall Diver City Tokyo Plaza.

Our participants can also choose either of the following two activities included in the tour price: Joypolis - indoor amusement park by SEGA, which is expected to re-open this July OR Tokyo Oedo Onsen Monogatari, which is a large scale hot-spring facility in Odaiba built to resemble a typical Edo-style townscape. This will be a really fun day!

There's always something happening in Odaiba. So many reasons to visit: special events, museums, food, Onsen, entertainment complex, shopping, etc...

DAY8: September 25 (Tue)

It's your LAST DAY in Japan. You only have one day left to go shopping and explore. Let us help arrange your last day.

Transfer to Narita International Airport with your escorted guide.

For participants with departure times that don’t coincide with the LAX flight
Take a Limousine Shuttle bus or local train to Narita International Airport on your own. (Transportation fee not included) Make sure to get to the airport 2 hours prior to your departure time.
