| Sapporo Snow Festival |
The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of the largest winter festivals in all of Japan. With sculptures made of snow and ice that tower several stories into the air, the festival is really a sight to behold. For a whole week in the beginning of February, the mile-long Ohdori Park is lined with sculptures large and small. You can browse around and see each one in the daylight, then take another stroll through the park at night to see the whole park magically lit up. Take a lift up onto the tower at the end of the park and see the whole festival from several stories high! A few blocks from the park is also a gallery of intricate ice sculptures.
What would be a winter tour without some snow? The Sapporo Snow Festival is the perfect way to make your winter the coolest (in a good way) and the most memorable.
