I don’t live in Los Angeles. Can I still go on one of the tours? |
Certainly! You have two options. The first and easiest is to have us book you a supplemental round-trip flight from your nearest airport to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) where the group will meet. Doing so is extremely easy and helps us keep closer tabs on your itinerary and ensure that your connections flow smoothly. Your second option is to make flight arrangements to LAX on your own and meet the group at the international airlines counter. If you use this option, please make sure you check with H.I.S. to ensure that the flights will connect smoothly.

I don’t live in the USA. Can I still attend the tour? |
Yes, again! In this case, simply indicate that you’d like to take the Land Only option. Land Only means that you would need to make your own air arrangements to Japan and you would meet the group at the hotel in Japan. Please inform us once you’ve made your flight arrangements so we’ll be able to keep track of you. H.I.S. has offices around the world so be sure to inquire if they have an office in your area that serves your needs.

I don’t have a passport. Can I still sign up for one of the tours? |
Yes, but you will need a passport before the tour departs for Japan. You do NOT need your passport at the time of reservation. However, depending on the departure date of the tour, you may need to expedite your passport request. Please contact the passport issuer nearest you for more information. Give plenty of time for passport processing (12 weeks at least).

What’s the deadline for making a reservation? |
The deadline for most tours is one month prior to the departure date. If that date falls on a weekend or holiday, then the deadline will be the last business day prior to that.

I don't have a credit card. Can I pay with a check/money order/paypal transfer, or use a friend/parent/relative's card? |
We are able to accept personal checks/money orders as payment for reservations. Deposits are due promptly after the reservation is confirmed. With check payments, final payments must be received six weeks in advance of the departure date (instead of the usual 1 month prior with credit card payments).
For third-party credit card payments, as long as you have written consent to use the card then you may do so. Please be aware that we will not take responsibility for credit cards used without permission of the cardholder. A credit card charge form filled out and signed, a copy of the cardholder’s credit card (front and back), and a picture ID copy (i.e. driver’s license) are all required for third party transactions.

Which credit cards will you accept? Can I split payments over two different cards, or does it all have to be on one? |
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. There may be an extra fee for using more than one card. Please inquire with H.I.S.

I made my reservation. What do I do now? |
If you’ve completed your reservation, and have submitted all the required information as well as made any flight arrangements you may require to arrive at the point of departure, then all you have left to do is sit tight and think about all the exciting things you’ll be experiencing over in Japan!! Can I cancel my reservation? |
Yes, you may cancel your reservation. Doing so will incur a charge for varying amounts depending on when you cancel in relation to that tour’s confirmation and departure date. Please use the chart below for your reference.
- Between tour confirmation and 30 days prior to departure date: US$300
- Less than 30 days prior to departure: 25% of tour fare
- Less than 15 days prior to departure: 50% of tour fare
- On the departure day: 100% of tour fare

When do you charge the rest of the tour to my credit card? |
The balance payment for the tour will be charged one month prior to the departure of the tour. We will be sure to advise you of the final payment.

Will my supplemental flight to LAX be a separate charge from the tour? |
Yes. All supplemental flights arranged by us will be charged separately by HIS International Tours (L.A.), Inc. If you are booking these flights on your own please be sure to inquire about any minimum connecting requirements before purchasing your tickets.

Are meals included on the tour? |
Meals are included on some tours but not all. If meals are included, it will be clearly indicated on that specific tour’s information page.

Yes, you can! And who could blame you for wanting to stay? Just let us know when you make your reservation how much longer you’d like to stay, and we’ll help you arrange hotel accommodations for your extended time in Japan. However, since you will not be flying back with the main tour group, we will be unable to get the group rate for your airline ticket and you will incur a one-time charge of $50 (maybe more depending on the return date of your flight). You will also be expected to pay for your own hotel accommodations for any time that is outside the duration of the tour.
Please note that hotel room rates will differ based on single or double occupancy and on the hotel itself.
Also, please be aware that, with the exception of participants using the land-only option, we only allow extensions past the end date of the tour (i.e. we do not allow you to arrive early).
